When you grow up having hyperhidrosis, you end up learning lots of ways to hide your excessive sweating--which often means missing out on the fun things in life. It's time to stop hiding and start healing.

I've come a long way since my teenage years when I went to great length to hide my hyperhidrosis. My life is joyful in many ways: I love my friends, art and writing, the sounds of nature, goofy jokes, and being in a great relationship. But after years of trying to hide my condition from others, there is still some healing that needs to be done. Writing this blog as part of my own healing, and I offer it to others in hopes it might be helpful to them in some way. In particular, I hope that teenagers with HH will find this blog and realize that they know they are not alone and that medical help is available. I encourage readers with hyperhidrosis to share your story with me and other readers of the blog. There are two ways of submitting the story: 1) By e-mail. (Please let me know if I may publish it and if it is OK or not to use your name. I will not publish names or e-mail addresses without your permission.) 2) post it directly to the blog.
